Helping the Student with Diabetes Succeed (A Guide for School Personnel) - in PDF format Welcome to the September issueHere we are, September already. The kids are in school and we get to go back to at least the semblance of a schedule. That makes my life a lot easier but it bothers the residual rebel in me. Whatever happened to going whichever way the wind blows. Who needs a stupid schedule? I'll do as I please when I please. I'll tell you what happened, kids and a whole bunch of birthdays gone by. I am getting old but there is a bright spot. According to my girls I'm pretty cool for a dork! For those of you parents new to diabetes and school I'm going to leave a couple of links up for awhile. You might want to take a look at this CHECKLIST to fill out, make copies of and give it to your child's teacher, school nurse, gym teacher, and anyone else responsible for caring for your child while they are in school. If you think that someone at your child's school could use a little “diabetes education” HERE is some good information you might gently point them towards. Last month I mentioned this company as being a place you can go to save time and money on your diabetes supplies. I get all of Kari's supplies here. They have been a big help to everyone who has written to me asking for help. Click HERE for Kindred Care
Use the Contents list at right to navigate this month's issue. You'll find new and informative articles and of course, you'll also find and all of our regular features. Quote of the dayThe whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.” Bible verse of the dayFor I receive from the Lord that which I also deliver to you: that the lord Jesus on the same night in which he was betrayed took bread; and when he had given thanks, He broke it and said “Take, eat; this is my body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper saying; “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. 1 Corinthians 11: 23-26 Thank you for subscribing to the mychildhasdiabetes.com Newsletter.
